Elevate is the brainchild of Father - Daughter duo, Doug and Karen Coons. Doug, Elevate's Director of Sales, started in the home building industry as a contractor for 20 years before moving on to starting a small import company bringing in staircases from Italy. After 12 years in the stair business, Doug now utilizes his knowledge as a builder, entrepreneur and importer to bring Elevate's customers a full-line of innovative interior finishing products from the best companies around the world. Joining him in this venture, his daughter Karen studied marketing before being hired by home accessories giant Umbra where she managed the company's website and catalog business. After a few years Karen was put to the helm of the 3 Toronto homes shows as production manager for dmg world media. Wearing multiple hats in this role, Karen used her juggling skills to improve brand consistency, cut costs, design home features, crafted logistics into an art form and became the office go-to for trend spotting and progressive ideation. Karen now brings this knowledge and flare to Elevate Innovations as Director of Creative Marketing.
